Matt Atkinson said building a culture of enterprise was important
The MP for Bath has urged entrepreneurs in the historic city to make use of a brand new centre for enterprise.
Don Foster, who has officially opened the Bath Adult Enterprise Centre, said the venue would serve to support "budding entrepreneurs".
The joint venture is being led by the City of Bath College and Curo Housing.
Unused office space in Kingsmead Square has been brought back to life and turned into a place of training and networking.
Mr Foster, a Liberal Democrat, said: "As a city named after an ancient Roman bathing complex, it should come as no surprise that innovation and entrepreneurship continue to go hand in hand with Bath.
The principal of the City of Bath College said that building a culture of enterprise was important with growing interest in self-employment.
Matt Atkinson added that the centre would focus "on skills for self-employment and business start-up".
