Patient services at Bridgwater Community Hospital have begun moving across to the new hospital site.
The £33m building on the outskirts of the town will replace the current hospital which has become outdated.
The outpatient and muscular skeletal departments are being transferred and on Wednesday the minor injury unit and x-ray department will be moved.
The new site will have 30 inpatient beds, as well as a maternity unit and space for mobile scanners.
The official opening of the hospital, in Bower Lane, is expected to take place in summer.
