Weston-super-Mare: Fireworks at Sea display off over weather fears
- Published
A fireworks display due to take place on Friday has been postponed over weather concerns as Storm Ciarán is set to arrive later.
The Fireworks at Sea event was scheduled to be held at the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare.
The move was made "with a heavy heart" by the third party company responsible for the display, a spokesperson said.
Organisers have set a provisional date for the event to take place instead on 17 February 2024.
They cited the unpredictable direction and speed of the wind for the decision.
Standard and gold tickets will be transferred to the next date with other ticket holders to be contacted by the company.
Damaging winds and travel disruption are forecast in southern England over the next few days due to Storm Ciarán.
