Rotherham United new stadium given council go-ahead

The club left Millmoor after it failed to agree a deal to remain there
Plans for a new 12,000-seater venue for Rotherham United have moved a step closer after the council gave them the go-ahead.
Outline planning permission has been granted to redevelop the old Guest and Chrimes site on the edge of the town.
Because of the size of the stadium, the plan has to be given final approval by the Secretary of State.
Chairman Tony Stewart said: "We are delighted that the council have supported the application."
The Millers have been playing at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium since 2008, when they were unable to agree a deal to remain at Millmoor.
The stadium will cost about £20m and is expected to take two years to build.
Mr Stewart said: "This is a significant regeneration scheme in central Rotherham which is proceeding at a pace despite the worst recession in 30 years.
"This represents another significant step towards our goal of bringing the Millers back home to Rotherham."
