Hundreds of people have given a heroes' welcome to IBF welterweight champion boxer Kell Brook in Sheffield.

Brook, 28, was honoured at a civic reception at the Winter Garden for his world title win against Shawn Porter on 16 August in California, USA.

The newly crowned champion was greeted by the Lord Mayor before thanking fans, signing autographs and posing for photographs.

Brook said he was taken aback by the huge welcome in his home city.

"It doesn't seem real, all this what's happening," he said.

"I just want to thank all the fans for turning out. I'm going to be giving back on December 6th by displaying my skills at the Sheffield Arena."
