A statue commemorating the women who kept Sheffield's steelworks running during both world wars is to be built, after fundraising was completed.

Fundraising began in 2012 to raise £150,000 for the bronze sculpture at Barkers Pool, outside the city hall.

The planned sculpture, commissioned by Sheffield City Council, has been designed by artist Martin Jennings.

A fundraising concert helped the campaign reach its total. The statue will be unveiled in the summer of 2016.
