Police have warned football fans going to a South Yorkshire derby match to behave or face "robust action".

Sheffield United travel to Oakwell on Saturday for the League One clash against Barnsley.

Police said more than 18,000 people were expected at the match.

Chief Supt David Hartley said: "If you are caught engaging in anti-social behaviour or other criminality, you will be dealt with robustly and are likely to face arrest."

South Yorkshire Police said the Metrodome complex in Queen's Road would be the only facility providing alcohol for away fans.

Officers will be communicating with fans and the public via social media before and during the match, advising on issues such as turnstile opening times and transport options.
