Sheffield cyclist dies after collision with car

A cyclist who was hit by a car in Sheffield has died, police have confirmed.

The 55-year-old man and the white Mazda 3 collided shortly after 18:00 BST on Rivelin Valley Road on 29 September.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died on 22 October.

The driver of the Mazda, a 31-year-old man, remained at the scene following the incident and has been assisting officers with their enquiries.

South Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident to get in touch.

A spokesperson said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage along the route of Rivelin Valley Road between the junctions of Manchester Road and Malin Bridge at the time of the collision to get in touch."
