Giant poppies have been painted on roundabouts and fields across Doncaster to mark Remembrance Day.

The council has created 23 memorials using "environmentally-friendly material" in the run-up to events being held across the city this weekend.

There will be a Civic Remembrance and silence at the Mansion House steps on Armistice Day on Saturday.

On Sunday, a Service of Remembrance will be held at at the war memorial on Bennetthorpe from 10:35 GMT.

There will then be a parade to the Minster of St George, where a second service will take place.
