South Yorkshire Police asked for anyone with information to get in contact with the force

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in south Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police said it received reports of concern for the safety of a man in Leighton Road at about 14:40 GMT on Monday.

He died before officers arrived, the force said, with his family informed.

A 46-year-old man was held by police and remains in custody, with officers still working out the exact circumstances which led to the death.

The force asked for those with information to contact them on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
