A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a father-of-two was shot in Sheffield.
The 19-year-old victim was taken to hospital following the attack in Page Hall Road shortly before 01:00 GMT on Tuesday and died on Wednesday.
Det Supt Paul Murphy said the "devastating incident" had left behind a "heartbroken family".
South Yorkshire Police said the arrest was made on Thursday. The suspect remains in custody, the force added.
Appealing for witnesses, Mr Murphy said the force was "relentless in tackling firearms offences".
He added: "We are urging members of the public to come forward with vital intelligence and help us with our investigation.
"Our officers have been conducting patrols around the area and will continue to do so in the coming days."
The force said officers remained in the area carrying out enquiries and Page Hall Road had since reopened.
