Two teenagers were stabbed during a fight between a group of males at a shopping centre, leaving one of them seriously hurt, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to Meadowhall in Sheffield at about 18:20 GMT on Tuesday, South Yorkshire Police said.
One male, 19, received minor injuries while another, also 19, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Two men, aged 20 and 24, were arrested in connection with the incident and remained in custody, officers said.
A force spokesperson said both men were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause GBH.
Photos following the incident had shown a cordon in place outside The Sunglasses Hut shop on Meadowhall's upper floor.
Police said on Wednesday officers were conducting extra patrols in the shopping centre and there was no longer a police cordon, adding that "inquiries are ongoing".
Sgt Clare Coe, of Meadowhall Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We want to assure the public that we are taking this incident incredibly seriously.
"No-one expects to encounter this kind of violence while out shopping and we simply will not tolerate knife crime anywhere in our communities.
"We are reviewing CCTV footage, speaking to witnesses and working in conjunction with our partners at Meadowhall to progress enquiries.
"Officers will be out and about over the course of today and tomorrow conducting additional patrols in the centre and I would urge any shoppers or workers to speak to them about any concerns or queries they have."
A spokesperson for Meadowhall said: "A section of Upper High Street was closed yesterday evening due to an isolated police incident.
"The safety of our visitors, colleagues and retail partners is our number one priority. The area has now fully reopened and the centre is operating as normal."
Meadowhall staff were working "in full collaboration" with police as investigations continued, the spokesperson added.
