Tramlines Festival launches 2024 unsigned artist competition

Sheffield's Tramlines Festival is offering up-and-coming acts the chance to play at the 2024 event.

Artists must submit a link to their music, with finalists gaining a paid slot at the Hillsborough Park festival.

Hopefuls have until 10 March to apply, with the overall winner also given the opportunity to perform at three other UK festivals.

The judging panel includes experts from across the music industry, including BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.

The overall winner will also play at Truck Festival in Oxfordshire, Y Not Festival in Derbyshire and Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, along with gaining a £500 prize to spend on music studio recording.

Tramlines Festival 2024 will be held between 26-28 July, with 40,000 music fans attending the sold-out festival each day last year.

The competition's 2023 winner was Harri Larkin, an indie act from Sheffield.

Harri Tape, who fronts the band, said: "Winning the Tramlines competition has given us a massive career boost in and outside of Sheffield.

"Headlining a stage at Tramlines is a great talking point when applying for gig."
