Doncaster drug suspect jumps over police car in escape bid
Footage showing the moment a suspect jumped on to the bonnet of a police car as he attempted to escape arrest, has been released by South Yorkshire Police.
Officers began pursuing a Mercedes car being driven through Dunscroft, in Doncaster, after noticing the "strong smell of cannabis" coming from the vehicle.
After a short pursuit the driver abandoned the vehicle, with bodycam footage from one of the officers capturing him jumping over their car.
He was eventually caught in a nearby field where he was found with a bag of suspected class A and B drugs.
The force said the 36-year-old was arrested on suspicion of drug offences, driving while unfit through drink or drugs and unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
