Crewe railway station revamp to get under way

A £6m overhaul of Crewe railway station is starting later this year.
The scheme, All Change for Crewe, is part of a wider project to regenerate the town centre and surrounding area.
East Cheshire Council said it hopes to transform the historic station, on Nantwich Road, into a "21st century gateway" for the town.
The first phase of work, which includes the refurbishment of the subway linking the platforms, will start in December.
Councillor Jamie Macrae, cabinet member in charge of prosperity and economic regeneration, said: "A revitalised rail hub is critical to boosting the town's economy and its attractiveness to businesses and visitors."
