Armed police called to Kidsgrove stand-off

A 43-year-old man has been arrested after armed police were called to an incident in Staffordshire.

Part of Beach Drive in Kidsgrove was shut shortly after 11:30 GMT while officers dealt with the stand-off.

Staffordshire Police said they had received reports of a man making threats and armed officers responded alongside specialist negotiators and other officers.

The man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

Staffordshire Police said no-one had been injured and the road had been reopened.
