Expansion plans for Amazon's base in Staffordshire have been approved by councillors.

The online retailer wanted 300 more parking spaces for staff and lorries at its processing base in Rugeley.

Cannock Chase Council said the expansion was part of plans by the firm to cater for a peak of about 3,000 employees.

Amazon has also requested a bus service to and from the site which opened in 2011, employing about 1,000 staff.

The company sells a wide range of products over the internet including, books, music, computer games and electronic equipment.
