Three people have now been arrested following the death of Avan Najmadeen.

A woman found dead in her home in Stoke-on-Trent has been named by police as mother-of-four Avan Najmadeen.

A post-mortem examination has revealed the 32-year-old died from multiple stab wounds.

Officers from Staffordshire Police found her at her home in Glebedale Road, Fenton, at about 17:00 BST on Monday.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

The force said a 33-year-old man from Wigan and a 33-year-old man from Liverpool were both being held on Friday, while magistrates have granted detectives a further 36 hours to detain a 35-year-old man from Wigan who was arrested on Wednesday.

Additional patrols have begun in the area and forensic investigations are continuing.

Det Insp Victoria Downing said: "Avan had lived in Glebedale Road with her four children and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen her or knows her movements over the weekend of 28-30 September, before she was found on Monday afternoon."

Police are appealing for drivers with dashcam footage from around the area on Monday to contact them.
