A road junction in Lichfield has been upgraded as part of an £800,000 scheme.

New traffic lights and a puffin crossing have been installed at Eastern Avenue's intersection with Grange Lane.

The junction between Eastern Avenue and Stafford Road has also been resurfaced.

Staffordshire county councillor David Williams said the work would create safer journeys for pedestrians, adding: "We do hope the improvements here will help get more people outdoors either walking or cycling."

The scheme was funded by the Department of Transport and also funds related to HS2.
