The theft of nine pigs in two separate raids at a farm that left six other pigs injured is being investigated by police.

The inquiry comes after the farm on Tamworth Road, Lichfield, was targeted, Staffordshire Police said.

The first theft took place on 3 October, when three pigs were stolen, with another six taken and six injured sometime overnight on 9-10 October.

CCTV is being checked in the search for the suspects, police said.

It is thought the thieves drove up a track to get to the farm before stealing the pigs, added the force.
