The Bridge Street roundabout in Uttoxeter will be resurfaced

A three-week programme of road improvements and repairs is due to start on Monday.

The £250,000 project in Uttoxeter will see the A518 revamped in the area around the Bridge Street roundabout, Staffordshire County Council said.

The scheme has been funded with Department for Transport pothole cash.

Some of the work will be carried out overnight, to reduce disruption, but there will also be daytime closures in the first week, the council said.

The first stage of the work involves resurfacing and repairs and improvements to drainage systems.

Then between 6 and 17 November, Town Meadows Way, Bridge Street roundabout and Bamford Bridge will be closed to through traffic on weekday nights, when resurfacing work is carried out.

The council said access to properties and businesses during the works will be maintained where possible.
