A care home has reopened in Stoke-on-Trent after a significant refurbishment under new ownership.

The former Stadium Court home at Festival Park reopened as Golden Park and will accommodate about 60 residents.

The home will provide residential care as well as nursing and dementia care.

The company's bosses say they aim to provide high-quality care and hope it will ease pressure on the NHS in the city.

They said they expect the site would employ a total of more than 500 staff when fully open and have future plans to open a second home on the site to double capacity.

The home is run by Primary Medical Solutions Ltd who also run Goldenhill Nursing Home and Goldenview Care Home.
