Arrest after woman dies in two-car crash in Great Wyrley on A5

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a crash.

The victim, aged in her 60s, died after the Kia she was in overturned in a crash with a black BMW on the A5 in Great Wyrley, Staffordshire.

It happened on Thursday at about 23:20 GMT between the Churchbridge roundabouts and the B4154 junction.

A man in his 20s, who was in the BMW, remained in a critical condition, police said.

While a man who was in the Kia, in his 70s, suffered minor injuries.

The 32-year-old man, from Cannock, who was arrested remained in custody, the force added.

Any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage from the area at the time have been urged to come forward by officers.
