Luke Durbin hunt: Police follow up new leads

Luke Durbin disappeared after a night out with friends in May 2006

New information is being followed up by police investigating the disappearance of a Suffolk man five years ago.

Luke Durbin, from Hollesley, was 19 when he went missing after a night out in Ipswich in 2006.

Police carried out house-to-house inquiries two weeks ago focusing on two areas where he was reportedly seen.

A number of people have come forward with new information and a woman reported seeing Mr Durbin on key dates in 2006, police said.

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Durbin was captured on CCTV in Dog's Head Street, Ipswich at 04:00 BST on 12 May 2006.

'Only imagine'

Officers also received reports he was spotted in a dark blue Renault Megane near to the Turban Centre, in Quay Side, Woodbridge between 11:00 BST and 14:00 BST the next day.

Det Ch Insp John Brocklebank said: "Someone locally knows what has happened to Luke, where he was and where he is now and I am confident that we are going to find out.

"The response to house to house inquiries has been very positive.

"Personally, I am determined to find out what has happened to Luke.

"I can only imagine what his family are going through and for their sake I, together with the team working on this case will look at all possibilities to find out what has happened to him, which includes the possibility that he has been unlawfully killed."
