Detectives investigating the disappearance of a 19-year-old man say a search near Ipswich speedway stadium has not found any new evidence.

Luke Durbin, of Hollesley, disappeared after a night out in Ipswich in 2006.

A claim of a possible sighting the next morning is being re-investigated and the police led a search around Foxhall Stadium on Sunday.

Det Ch Insp John Brocklebank said: "Our specialist team carried out searches and nothing significant was found."

The Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue and the National Search and Rescue Dog Association were also involved in the operation on the wooded heathland on the eastern edge of Ipswich.

A witness reported seeing a man matching Mr Durbin's description walking near the stadium between 07:30 and 08:00 BST on Friday, 12 May 2006.

Mr Brocklebank added: "Our inquiries will continue.

"Every lead and piece of information is being followed up by a team of detectives and we are determined to find out what happened the night Luke disappeared."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Norfolk and Suffolk major investigation team or Crimestoppers.
