Death after fall at Felixstowe port not suspicious

The death of a Chilean national who fell on to a boat at a container port in Suffolk is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

Officers were called to Felixstowe docks by the port's own police force on Saturday morning following the death.

Inquiries were made throughout the day and police are liaising with the boat's operating company and other agencies to identify and inform his next of kin.

A report will be prepared for the coroner, a police spokeswoman said.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency has been informed.
