A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a Suffolk man who has been missing since 2006.

The 40-year-old was detained in Ipswich in connection with the disappearance of Luke Durbin, then 19, of Hollesley.

Mr Durbin was reported missing on 13 May 2006 after he failed to return from a night out with friends in Ipswich town centre.

Detectives have taken the suspect to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned.

The joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team said it had not located Mr Durbin but believed he had been "unlawfully killed".

Suffolk Police confirmed it was carrying out a search of the suspect's property on Spring Road, Ipswich.

A second address in nearby Redwald Road, Rendlesham, was also cordoned off by police as searches took place as part of the investigation.
