Plans to build a solar panel farm on a former Suffolk airfield have been approved.

AGRenewables of London and Great Glemham Farms want to build it on the 75-acre (30 hectare) site at Parham airfield.

The company said the 64,200 panels would generate 15 megawatts of electricity, which is enough for 4,600 homes.

Suffolk Coastal District Council has granted the planning permission.

The council approved plans for a 138-acre (56 hectare) solar farm at Stratton Hall in Nacton earlier this year, but rejected a proposal for a 127-acre (51 hectare) site at Church Farm, Hacheston.
