A man has been charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in water in a country park.

Andrius Vengalis, 46, of Bury Road, Brandon, is accused of killing Egle Vengaliene, 35, also of Bury Road, who was discovered at Brandon Country Park, Suffolk, on Friday morning.

Suffolk Police said a large area of the country park remained cordoned off while investigations continued.

Mr Vengalis will appear before magistrates in Ipswich on Tuesday.

The force said its investigation was ongoing and officers were keen to hear from anybody who knew the victim, anyone with a recent sighting of her prior to 07:00 BST on Friday or anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.

It is also asking any residents with a doorbell camera or private CCTV to review their footage.

Detectives said they were treating the case as an "isolated incident" and did not believe there was any wider threat to the community.
