Ipswich Buses services cut due to driver shortage
- Published
A bus company has cut services on four major routes due to a lack of drivers.
Ipswich Buses said eight weeks of reduced services would start on Monday.
It said applications were being considered from those currently without a bus licence in an attempt to attract drivers.
Dan Bassett, managing director of Ipswich Buses, "We do not have enough qualified drivers working in the company to provide the level of service that we advertise."
Several services have been disrupted as a result, with the eight, nine, 10 and 13 routes affected by the cuts.
The firm has 13 trainees at different stages of the recruitment process and Mr Bassett said he was "reasonably confident" services could be reintroduced over the next eight weeks.
