Delia Smith's car hit by can as it arrives for Norwich v Ipswich derby

A car carrying the celebrity cook Delia Smith was hit by a beer can as she arrived at a football stadium for a derby match.

The 82-year-old, who is a part owner of Norwich City, was being driven to the game against rivals Ipswich Town.

The can ended up on the bonnet of her BMW despite a heavy police presence at Ipswich's Portman Road ground.

Suffolk Police has been approached for comment. The Championship league game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Delia Smith and her husband Michael Wynn Jones are joint majority shareholders alongside Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio, who first joined the Norwich City board in September 2021.

Ms Smith and her husband own 40% of the club.
