Police catch banned driver over the limit in Newmarket

Video captured the moment a disqualified driver was caught behind the wheel almost three times over the drink-drive limit.

Danny Warby, 35, of no fixed address, failed a breathalyser test after being stopped by police in Newmarket, Suffolk.

He told officers he had not been driving but CCTV showed him pulling into a petrol station in Willie Snaith Road on 4 November.

Warby pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and was jailed for 15 weeks and banned from driving for three years at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court.

In 2016 he had been sentenced to six years in prison and banned from driving for 10 years after being convicted of causing death by dangerous driving.
