The UK's largest, free one-day musical festival is welcoming applications from DJs for the first time.
Ipswich Music Day will be held in the town's Christchurch Park, for the 34th year, on 7 July.
Organised by Ipswich Borough Council, with support from sponsors, applications have opened to musicians across Suffolk and East Anglia.
Events assistant Becky Applin said: "We really want to reach out to every corner and every genre."
Framlingham's Ed Sheeran performed at the event in 2009 and 2010 before he became internationally famous.
The event will feature six stages, including one hosted by BBC Radio Suffolk, which is the only stage performers do not need to apply for.
"We're going to have a bigger venue, a bigger stage and we have a brilliant line-up that's already being prepared for you," said breakfast presenter Wayne Bavin.
Last year, the council received applications from 233 performers, with 52 successful musicians performing to a crowd of 24,500 people.
The council's Labour leader Neil MacDonald said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for up-and-coming artists to showcase their talent and for Ipswich to come alive with the sound of music, fun, and entertainment."
Applications are open via Ipswich Entertains, external until 31 March, and successful candidates will be informed on 12 April.
