Ipswich teenagers to be taken on Easter trip thanks to funding

Two entrepreneurs have been awarded funding to deliver a free residential trip for teenagers this Easter.
Calvin Eden, 27, and Oba Akinwale, 31, began delivering public speaking workshops to adolescents in 2019.
The five-day trip will be open to 15 to 17-year-olds from Ipswich, Suffolk, and will take place in West Runton, Norfolk.
Mr Akinwale said: "We want to inspire as many young people as we can, at a time when they need it most."
Since the pair launched their company Loud Speaker, they have given 2,000 workshops to more than 150,000 teenagers.
"We've been able to build public speaking skills and build their confidence, but at the core of our workshops is the element of fun - when you join one of our sessions you can expect music, confetti cannons and even giant unicorns," continued Mr Akinwale.
"I think this combination has allowed schools and colleges to see a real step-change for their students."
Mr Eden said: "I think one of the reasons for the success has been our relatability with young people right across the country.
"All of the schools and colleges we visit have kids who can relate to our stories as many of them have struggled themselves or overcome adversity in their lives."
The duo secured funding from National Citizen Service to deliver the Easter Weekender event, in collaboration with the company Ingeus, the Youth Hostel Association and outdoor education firm Inspiring Learning.
Their event will run from 29 March to 2 April, with coaches transferring Ipswich's young people to and from the venue, and the pair said it would include water sports, zip-lining, karaoke and quizzes.
