Titanic 100th anniversary commemorated in Epsom theatre
A Surrey theatre company is to perform a musical to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
Epsom Light Opera Company (ELOC) is performing Titanic - The Musical at the Epsom Playhouse in Surrey.
Des Wilby from ELOC said: "We are one of only seven companies in the UK who have received permission to stage this wonderful production in April 2012."
The musical, which first opened on Broadway in 1997, follows the Titanic from its launch on 10 April 1912 to its tragic end five days later. It is based on known historical facts.
It tells the stories of many of the passengers on board and their hopes and aspirations, set against the activities of the crew in running a state-of-the-art ocean liner.
Titanic The Musical is being performed by ELOC at the Epsom Playhouse from 17 to 21 April 2012.
