Countess opens Frimley Park's £1.2m neonatal unit

The Countess of Wessex met Katrina Millard and baby Angel from Bracknell at Frimley Park

The Countess of Wessex has returned to the hospital where her two children were born to open a new neonatal unit.

The £1.2m unit at Frimley Park, Surrey, opened to patients in December and will treat about 550 of the 5,500 babies born every year at the hospital.

The countess's first child, Lady Louise Windsor, was born at Frimley Park in 2003 after she was airlifted to the hospital from her home at Bagshot Park.

Her second child James, Viscount Severn, was born there in 2007.

Lady Louise was delivered by the Queen's physician Sir Marcus Setchell, who received a knighthood for services to the Royal Family, at Buckingham Palace earlier.
