Visitors to a Thames island in the days before the "brutal murder" of a local man have been urged to contact police to provide details of their trip.

The body of Scott Wilkinson, 48, was pulled from the river in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, on 28 July, a short distance from "Donkey Island".

Police believe he was killed on the island near Sunbury Lock, where he had been fishing the evening before.

They would like to hear from anyone who visited it between 21 and 28 July.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Wilkinson had died from head trauma.

Six people have been questioned in connection with the murder inquiry.

Two men aged 21 and 26, and two boys, aged 16 and 17, arrested on suspicion of murder have been re-bailed until 9 November.

A 36-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice have been re-bailed until 17 November.
