Two people have pleaded not guilty to the murder of a 48-year-old man found beaten to death at his Brighton flat.

Denise Antonia, 33, and David Sole, 32, denied murdering Jonathan Ellison when they appeared at Lewes Crown Court.

Mr Ellison needed to be identified by fingerprints after his body was discovered by friends in his ground-floor city centre flat on 14 April.

Ms Antonia, of Appledore Road, Brighton and Mr Sole, of no fixed address, were remanded in custody to await trial.

A provisional date has been set for 3 January. The trial is expected to last up to four weeks.
