Chichester pedestrian dies after van crash

A 54-year-old pedestrian has died in hospital after being hit by a van in West Sussex.
The accident happened at about 16:05 GMT on Friday on the Chichester bypass between the Whyke and Stockbridge roundabouts, Sussex Police said.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester where he later died from his injuries.
The van driver, a 34-year-old man, was uninjured. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
