A 14-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murdering a man in East Sussex has been told no further action will be taken against him.

The boy was 13 at the time of his arrest during police investigation into the death of Chris Poole, 46.

Mr Poole was attacked outside a shop in the Hydneye area of Eastbourne 16 August. He died in hospital from head injuries the next day.

Shane Noble, 19, and a 15-year-old boy have been charged with murder.

Mr Noble of no fixed address, and the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are next due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 30 October.

Mr Noble has been remanded in custody and the boy remanded into the custody of a local authority outside Sussex.

Sussex Police said the 14-year-old boy has been stood down from police bail.
