A27 Lancing repairs cause long queues
- Published
Motorists have faced lengthy queues on the A27 in West Sussex as a 14-week scheme to upgrade drainage began.
The work to tackle the risk of flooding affects a two-mile section between Lancing College junction and Dankton Lane, Sompting.
On Monday a lane was closed eastbound from Manor Road roundabout to beyond Coombes Road, and westbound from Old Shoreham Road to the same roundabout.
Flooding has deteriorated the road surface.
Work will be carried out seven days a week during the day and night, but avoiding peak hours.
The Highways Agency said access to all residential properties would be managed locally on site.
