An Airstream caravan has been bought for use on a Sussex seafront while a temporary cafe is built, Eastbourne council has said.
A new temporary cafe is being built after the old Wish Tower cafe in Eastbourne was demolished, but the authority said the project had been delayed after a partner pulled out.
The Airstream, a 1930s American design, cost £36,000, the council said.
It said the vehicle, offering drinks and snacks, would bring in revenue.
Councillor Carolyn Heaps said: "Here in Eastbourne we do things in style, and our stunning new Airstream will add a unique touch of glamour to numerous events in our busy tourism calendar."
She said the council expected to repay the investment within two years.
The vehicle would be installed in time for Easter but would be replaced by the summer with the temporary cafe run in-house by the council, she added.
Plans for a permanent cafe are still being discussed, she said.
