Janet Muller was reported missing the day before she was found dead

A taxi driver thought to have been approached by a student whose body was found in the boot of a burning car is being sought by Sussex Police.

Janet Muller, 21, was found in Ifield, near Crawley, on 13 March, the day after being reported missing in Hove.

Ms Muller was thought to have approached a Ford Mondeo on Kingsway, Hove at 01:12 GMT on 13 March.

Christopher Jeffrey-Shaw, 26, of Lakeside, Beckenham, south London, has been charged with her murder.

He is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 3 July.

Det Ch Insp Karen Mizzi said: "We urgently need to identify the driver of this car, as they may be able to provide vital information to the investigation."

The body of the 21-year-old, who was a University of Brighton student, was discovered in a Volkswagen Jetta.

She had been reported missing from Mill View Hospital in Hove, on 12 March.
