Plastics cleared from Beachy Head by 'extreme litter pickers'

Tonnes of plastic waste have been cleared from the base of Beachy Head's cliffs during the summer by a team of "extreme litter pickers".

The highly-organised volunteer group have been taking personal risks by walking beneath cliffs to gather rubbish in an almost inaccessible part of coastline near Eastbourne.

The waste gets bagged up, then taken to a waiting ship before being brought ashore to be transferred to waste disposal units.
