Flimwell: Road closed overnight after serious crash

The road has remained closed for several hours

Police are investigating a serious crash in East Sussex.

It happened on Hawkhurst Road, Flimwell, on the Kent/East Sussex border, at about 18:00 GMT on Thursday.

The road has been closed at its junction with the A21 for half a mile east, while investigators examine the scene.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area on Friday morning, as Sussex Police appealed for witnesses to come forward, quoting Operation Colchester.

Several police teams have spent the night at the scene of the collision
