The Shaun the Sheep statues were dotted across locations in Brighton & Hove for eight weeks in aid of a local charity

An event is taking place to say goodbye to the 120 Shaun the Sheep statues which formed a charity art trail across Brighton and Hove.

From Friday to Sunday, the statues will be displayed at the Brighton Centre before they are auctioned off to raise money for a hospice charity.

42 of the large statues have been decorated by a local artist.

Organisers said the sheep had had a "baa-rilliant" time over the last eight weeks.

In September, DJ Fatboy Slim opened the Shaun by the Sea exhibition by walking the whole trail in one day.

The statues will now be sold off at an auction to raise funds for Martlets Hospice in Hove

The auction, which will raise money for Martlets Hospice in Hove, will take place on Monday evening at the Corn Exchange, Brighton.

The charity provides support to patients with terminal illnesses and their families.

In October, the hospice appealed to the public after one statue was left daubed with graffiti, while another was stolen and found broken in a ditch.

Martlets said each damaged statue could cost them about £7,500 and impact their hopes of raising about £250,000 through the auction.

The event between 24 and 26 November will include all 120 statues from the trail - 43 large and 77 small ones - as well as a make your own Shaun the Sheep workshop.
