Blatchington Mill School fire: Girl detained under Mental Health Act

The fire broke out at Blatchington Mill School in Nevill Avenue, Hove, at about 17:40 GMT on Wednesday

A 16-year-old girl who was arrested after a fire at a secondary school in Hove has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

Blatchington Mill School was closed on Thursday and Friday following the blaze on Wednesday.

The teenager from Hove was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life shortly after the fire.

Sussex Police said it was continuing to investigate the fire. No injuries were reported in the blaze.
