Eastbourne RNLI has welcomed three new recruits to its "lifeboat family".

The three little ones, Hunter, Arthur and Frankie, were born within a month of each other.

They paid a visit to Eastbourne's lifeboat station with their fathers, who are long-standing volunteers, on the day of the weekly training session.

An RNLI spokesperson said the station "had a great sense of family" and its volunteers were "inspiring future generations".

Mick Wishman, a firefighter who has been volunteering with the RNLI for the past 14 years, was inspired to join from a young age after watching a rescue take place under the town's pier.

Alex Emberley has been a volunteer crew member for 13 years, while Brandon Bentley has been a volunteer crew member for seven years.

The RNLI spokesperson said the crew was "pleasantly surprised to welcome three new members to its lifeboat family" and said their fathers were "part of the family of volunteers inspiring future generations".

"The station was abuzz with positive energy and well wishes for them and their families as they start their new and exciting chapters," added the spokesperson.

"Eastbourne lifeboat station has always had a great sense of family and many members have been volunteering for over half of their lives, with other family members following in their footsteps."
