Vectis Dinky toy auction fetches more than £165,000

A Dinky toy has sold for more than £6,000 at an auction on Teesside.

The French Dinky No.561 Citroen type H Van "Baroclem", which was in "near mint" condition, was expected to reach about £4,000 but fetched £6,240.

The van was one of 700 lots from the Malvern Collection of Dinky models which had been collected over 25 years.

Auctioneers at Vectis in Stockton-on-Tees, said it was a "fantastic sale" which fetched a total of £166,247.

The collection included many "rare and hard to find" variations, with several of the toys reaching about £2,000 each.
