Man killed at Newton Aycliffe recycling plant named

Durham Constabulary and the HSE are working together to determine the circumstances of Mr Hogg's death

A man who died after becoming trapped in a machine at a recycling centre in County Durham has been named.

Simon Hogg, 47, from Darlington, died at John Wade's Quarry, Newton Aycliffe, at 12:00 GMT on Saturday.

A 46-year-old man, who is also from Darlington, was taken to hospital with leg injuries. His condition is described as stable.

Durham Police and the Health and Safety Executive has launched a joint investigation into the incident.
